AIMS 4 Women

AIMS-UK offers a variety of projects dedicated to women to increase social inclusion, promote health and provide economic support, targeting particularly those who are disadvantaged, isolated and inactive.

  • eidpartyAIMS-UK endeavours to increase social inclusion and participation of women and their children in the community to prevent them from becoming depressed and isolated.

To achieve this AIMS-UK regularly organises a variety of social and recreational activities around and outside London at which all women are welcome.

    • Coffee Mornings - every other Friday in North London
Coffee Afternoons - every other Sunday in North London
These sessions are held fortnightly to give women an opportunity to socialise and meet new friends. They provide a friendly and welcoming environment in which women can relax, talk and share experiences. They include a brief Islamic reminder to boost faith and learn basic principles of the religion with free healthy light refreshments.

    • Social Gatherings
From short trips, days out and pic-nics, these gatherings enable women to connect with each other and to develop interpersonal skills. They also increase their confidence, reduce isolation while showing women new places and meet new friends.

    • Home Visits to isolated and distressed sisters due to age, illness or hardships as well as keeping in touch with them through txt messages and phone calls.

    • Eid Parties
These parties take place rught after the two Eid festivals. They offer a way to celebrate these special times with other Muslim women and their children, especially those who do not have family and friends to share the celebrations with. The children are entertained with different games, arts and crafts and other recreational and educational activities.
